About the Book
Since the first democratic elections in 1994, there have been many political and economic changes. There is a general recognition within South African society that poverty has increased and that working people’s living standards have declined. These developments raise a number of important questions about the condition of the working class after 1994. This booklet contains a brief overview history of Bophelong, the involvement of Bophelong people in the struggle against apartheid, and also looks at current living conditions in Bophelong.
